We are proud to introduce to you a second location of Orlik Gallery, which stands as a beacon of contemporary art in Plaka, Athens. Just a few minutes’ walk from our first gallery in Kudathineon (Hyperlink), this new space at Navarchou Nikodimou 27 adds another dimension to our artistic vision. The building itself is extraordinary, featuring walls and floors intricately crafted with stones, reminiscent of an ancient church. This architectural marvel not only honours the rich history of Greece but also provides a stunning backdrop for the contemporary artworks we exhibit.
The interior design of our second Orlik Gallery is a true homage to the splendor of ancient Greece. The carefully crafted stonework envelops visitors in a timeless atmosphere, where the old world meets the new. This unique setting creates a captivating environment that enhances the experience of viewing modern art. Each piece displayed within these historic walls gains a new layer of meaning, as the contrast between the contemporary art and the ancient-inspired architecture sparks a dialogue between different eras.
Since our establishment in 2022, the Orlik Gallery has been committed to promoting diverse and innovative contemporary artists. The second gallery continues this mission, featuring an eclectic mix of exhibitions that range from painting and sculpture installations. Our curated shows are designed to provoke thought, inspire creativity, and engage audiences with contemporary issues. This new space allows us to expand our programming and offer even more opportunities for artists to showcase their work.
Located in the heart of Plaka, the Orlik Gallery benefits from its proximity to this historic and culturally rich neighbourhood. Plaka, often called the “Neighbourhood of the Gods,” is famous for its ancient landmarks and charming streets. Our gallery’s location adds to its enchantment, attracting both locals and tourists who are eager to explore the intersection of Greece’s storied past and vibrant present.
